History
Los Solidos Nation, also known as the Solid Ones formed in 1990 in Hartford Connecticut when the Savage Nomads and the Ghetto Brothers merged. This merger was established since other local gangs outnumbered the Savage Nomads and Ghetto Brothers but together they became a formidable force. Solidos members consider themselves "family" and call each other Solido. They wear beaded necklaces with three red and three blue beads in succession continuing completely throughout the necklace.
Development
Los Solidos gangs are active in Connecticut, especially in the cities of Hartford, New London, East Lyme, Norwich, New Britain and Waterbury. They are well established within the Correctional Facilities of Connecticut. During the early/mid 1990's, Los Solidos found themselves in a bitter battle with the Latin Kings. Los Solidos committed several acts of violence including murder. Eventually, they found themselves the subject of a RICO investigation initiated by the Hartford Gang Task Force (Hartford Police Department, Connecticut State Police and FBI). Recently, this gang has been migrating to Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Maine and Pennsylvania because of the highly successful RICO convictions.
